Parajes del Valle

The magic of these wines comes from the hand of Marie Jover, a 28 year old winemaker who has transferred her modern view of winemaking to our wines. The organic Monastrell grapes come from very old vines (20-40 years), organic, maintained from the old "Terraje" system.

Since its inception, the driving force behind this winery is to be able to maintain the old "Terraje" system, which relies on renting the vineyard to farmers: they take care of the good quality of the vines and return 7% of the production to the landowner. Almost all the 80-90 year old vineyards in Jumillo are maintained in this way, but unfortunately, nowadays the landowners want to change the system to more productive irrigated vineyards. The goal of the cellar is to maintain the old vineyards of the "Terraje" system by paying the grapes a higher price, therefore maintaining a higher quality yield of these old vineyards.
