A stunning vintage, probably the best vegetation period since 2009. A budding within the long term average and a swift passing blossom without interruptions formed ideal pre-conditions to create an exceptional vintage. Only the rainfall decreased in summertime. Thanks to deep rooting, old vines, which have an average age of 40 years and more, alternative water supply from groundwater provided always sufficient water. When the weather finally turned, ripeness accelerated rapidly. Fully ripe, golden-yellow, healthy grapes were the result of meticulous manual labour, which permitted us to bring in an outstanding vintage by the end of October.
