Comte Louis de Clermont Tonnerre – VACQUEYRAS Vallée du Rhône – Rhône Valley Wine
The Vines: 70% Grenache; 30% Syrah-Mourvèdre
Vinification: : traditional, long vating for about 15 days with temperature control at 28° to 30° C, partial desteeming, no footing.
Ageing: For 18 months before bottling. No oak. Wine is left at rest for several months before release on market.
Tasting: Beautiful red-grenat colour, clear. Powerful nose, hints of spices, and black fruits. 2014 Vintage is opening now on peppery, liquorice, anise and thyme notes. Good structure. Long finish. Decanting is advised.
Food paring: Best served over any red and white meats and cheeses. Of course, all Provence dishes will be a must.
Cellaring: 6 years after bottling - Drink 2014 by 2022.
