Our Credo | Tradition & Commitment

By the time when in 1775 here in Johannisberg the „Spätlese“(late harvest) was conceived, our family had been winemakers for 105 years. No reason however, for us to rest on our tradition today. A diligent care of the vineyards and an extreme pruning of vines will raise the extract and the grape must weights. A late and selective harvest by hand, combined with the cautious pressing of the grapes will raise the quality of the grape juice. Modern cellar technology and a slow cold fermentation will yield fresh, fruity and rich premium wines. Our 25 hectars of vineyards consist of 83% Riesling, 12% Pinot Noir, 3% Pinot Blanc and two further varietals.
