Burgundy (aka “Bourgogne”) made up of a complex mosaic of vineyards, known as climat, clos and crus. Thanks to the diversity of the local terroir, Burgundy wines are authentic, complex and elegant. Thus, no wonder that the world's rarest and most expensive wines come from this region. The prominent grape varieties are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. There are others too, such as Aligoté, Gamay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc.
