SPIRITS

A spirit is an alcoholic beverage with a minimum alcoholic strengh of 15%. There are two ways to obtain a spirit: the first way is by distillation and the second way is by blending a spirit with one or more other drinks.

The selection of our spirits is made in small groups. We offer six different spirits: two pastis and four cognacs

Cognac

Cognac is double-distilled brandy produced around the town of Cognac in France. Its different denominations on its ageing time. World famous, Cognac can accompany your aperitif or take the place of a digestif and can also be enjoyed in cocktails. At Vinodelikatesy, we import four different cognacs from two different producers. The first producers is André Petit, we only have one product from his range which is the VSOP Cognac. Then the second producer that we import is Frapin Cognac. The vineyard of the house extends over 250 hectares exlusively from the Grande Champagne, 1st growth of Cognac. Tradition and ancestral know-how are the words that forge the Cognacs of the Frapin estate. We import the Cigar Blend XO Coganc, the Château Fontpinot Cognac and the Extra Frapin Cognac.
Pastis

The Ricard was created in 1932 by Paul Ricard. He was the son of a wine merchant and he wanted to change the dubious reputation of absinthe, for this he spent many months in his laboratory to elaborate a famous aniseed drink, this is the birth of Ricard. He started to market it in 1932 and the image of friendly and local aperitif was born around this drink. However, many people were perplexed by it. This is why Paul Ricard invented the word "Pastis" from the provencal "pastisson" and the italian "pasticchio" which means mixture. This was the birth of Pastis.
Pineau

Pineau des Charentes is a "vin de liqueur produced in a specified region" at European level and a "vin de liqueur d'appellation d'origine contrôlée" in France. It is obtained by mixing grape must and cognac.
