Rioja DOC is the most famous Spanish wine region. It's situated in North Central Spain and can be organized into three areas: La Rioja, Alava and Navarre. The key grape is Tempranillo, also know as Ull de Llebre, Cencibel, Tinto Fino, Tinta del Pais, etc., and which is typically labeled by its regional name. The wine region produce over 90% of red wines and the rest is a mix of white (Viura, Verdejo) and rosé wines.
